NSW opens its migration program 2024-25

NSW has opened the migration program 2024-25 for subclass 190 and 491

Following are the major requirements published by New South Wales Visa and Migration Department.

Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

You must

- meet all the requirements set by the Department of Home Affairs for Subclass 190

- have positive skills assessment in an occupation listed in the eligible skilled occupation list for Subclass 190 which falls within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW skills list.

- be either living in NSW for at least six months or, if offshore, be living offshore for at least six months.

Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491)

There are three pathways under Subclass 491 that you can apply under.

Pathway 1- If you are currently working with a regional NSW employer

You must

- meet the requirements set by the DOHA for this visa

- have worked in your nominated occupation or closely related occupation for the six months immediately before applying

- have worked for the same employer

- have been paid a minimum of the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) by your employer in the nominated or closely related occupation

Pathway 2- by invited to apply by NSW

You must

- meet the requirements set by the DOHA for this visa

- be skilled in an occupation eligible for this visa within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW Regional Skills List

- be currently residing in NSW and have continuously resided for at least a period of three months

- have continuously resided offshore for at least three months if you are currently residing offshore

Pathway 3- recently graduated from a Regional NSW institution

You must

- have completed a bachelor's degree or above from an institution located in a regional area of NSW

- have done a study which is related to the nominated occupation

- have completed your study within the two years before applying for NSW nomination

- be able to claim points for 'study in regional Australia' for your study

- be skilled in an occupation eligible for this visa within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW Regional Skills List

- be currently residing in NSW and have continuously resided for at least three months

- have continuously resided offshore for at least three months if you are currently residing offshore
