Western Australia's Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP)

Western Australia will provide grant payments of up to $10,000 through their Construction Visa Subsidy Program to support skilled migration visa pathways for workers.

WA employers under Employer Sponsored Stream and skilled migrants under the WA State Nominated Stream may be eligible for the CVSP.

Skilled migrants may be eligible for the grant under State Nominated visas Subclass 190 or Subclass 491.

Offshore skilled migrants who apply for their visa offshore will receive payments of up to $10,000 in two instalments which are called:

Milestone 1 - $5,000

Milestone 2 - $5,000

Onshore skilled migrants who apply for their visa onshore will receive payments of up to $5,000 in two instalments which are called:

Milestone 1 - $2,500

Milestone 2 - $2,500

Steps to apply for State Nominated Stream

1. Lodge Expression of Interest with the Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) nominating an eligible occupation from the CVSP Eligible Occupations List.

2. Connect with an employer based in WA. You can enter your details on the Skilled Migrant Employment Register where you can be seen by an employer looking for a skilled migrant.

3. After your state nomination has been approved and visa granted, register your arrival and visa approval with WA Migration Services.

4. You can lodge your Milestone 1 payment once you have started working for your employer and have received your first payslip. Complete the CVSP Nominated Stream- Milestone 1- Claim Form to receive your first payment.

5. You can lodge your Milestone 2 payment once you have completed six months of work in the construction industry. Complete the CVSP Nominated Stream- Milestone 2- Claim Form to receive your final payment.
